MOC LED order # 2
We received our order today and after spending the day packing everything up, we'll get them to the post office tomorrow. You should have them by Saturday!
We placed a second order for LED's on October 1st. The response from those who participated in the first order has been very positive and we have depleted the supply of bulbs we brought to the Rally.
The procedure is the same as before. Send us an email (rvtravlr@gmail.com) with your order or to request a price list. Once you place an order with us, we will invoice you and request that you settle up through PayPal. All paid orders received by October 1st will then be forwarded to the manufacturer who generally takes about 3 weeks to get the bulbs to us. When we receive them, we will ship them out Priority Mail.
If you have any questions, feel free to call or email.

We placed the order with the manufacturer today. We did order some extra bulbs so if you are interested, we might have the ones you want by the end of the month. Just let us know.
Thanks to everyone!

How would I find out what I need? Is there a conversion chart from bulb to LED? Are these the soft white?
Thanks
Mike

Mike,
Yes they are warm white. With your rig, you mainly have the Large Wedge which replace the 912/921 glass wedge bulbs in your fixtures. You probably have 4 BA15d bulbs in your sconce lights and 4 BA15s bulbs in your porch, scares and front utility.

Mike,
I too am not sure what we would need for our 2011 Big Sky. Can you send us a conversion chart?
Thanks,
Marge

Thanks,
Mike

The wedge bulbs (T2-18 and T2-15) both fit in the white plastic fixtures that are found on the ceiling and basement area. They replace a 921 bulb. The T2-18's are recommended because they produce more light. The T2-15's are recommended for older Big Sky bedroom sconces - our sconce takes one of each due to size constraints. The T2-18's also fit into the 12 volt domed glass ceiling fixtures, most entry lights (the ones at the door) and bedroom/bathroom medicine cabinet fixtures.
The Bayonet BA15d bulbs are for living room wall sconces in the back and some rigs have them in other areas. I have seen some of these bulbs used in kitchen light fixtures (not the white plastic ones).
The BA15s bulbs go in the porch, both scare and the front utility fixtures.
In many Montana's there are a couple of small glass recessed fixtures under a living room cabinet. These take the small G4 bi-pins. For older Big Sky's, we have both the small and large glass recessed fixtures and thus the reason for the large G4 bi-pins. Both of these types of fixtures have 10 watt halogen bulbs in them.
So, to recap:
921 = T2-18 and goes in the majority of light fixtures in Montana's and Big Sky's built after about late 2009.
G4 Halogen = Large or Small G4 depending on the size of the fixture. If you have an older Big Sky, you'll want both the large and small ones. If you have a Montana or newer Big Sky with recessed glass lighting under some of the cabinets, you'll want the small G4.
1156 = BA15s for the porch, scare and front utility light.
1004 = BA15d for wall sconces and some kitchen fixtures.

The cutoff date of the 17th is for our current order. The manufacturer hasn't made our order yet - they will do so beginning the 18th, so we can still increase our order for those still want some LED's. You may have noticed that we have a negative quantity of T2-18's. We will increase our order with the manufacturer so that all who have ordered them will receive them.
We will probably make another order for LED's in a month or so; sooner if demand is there. We have to purchase in bulk so that we can maintain these prices.

Just out of curiosity, how many bulbs did you order?

The manufacturer has shipped our LED's and we should have them in a few days. It sometimes takes a bit of time to clear customs, i.e. collect the import duty...

AAAAAARGH- I've been buying some of the same bulbs online. Tonight is the first time I've jumped to this forum, so I don't know what your prices are. I'd bet your prices are much better, and if so I'd like to switch over. I'm about 30 percent through changing most of my incd bulbs to led, so tell me how I can determine the costs of the various bulbs. The high output G4's with some soldering and fixture adjusting is working pretty well for me except for the dual pin 1142 type bulbs. I love the LED's- there are times when we are boondocking and I fear for my wimpy battery- especially since I have hydraulic jacks and need a lot of reserve current to activate the jacks. LED's to the rescue since I will use very little current.
Glad to see what you are doing and I hope I can become part of it.

How have you been using the G4's? And, how have you been modifying the fixtures?

Hope you like 'em Bob!
We (and some MOC'ers) have been testing two new LED's.
The first is 110 volts and the second is an even brighter 921 wedge replacement and is suitable for fixtures such as ceiling entry lights, some bathroom vanity fixtures, some kitchen tear-drops and the like.

Got ours today and installed. Checked the current draw. With 13 new lamps the total load is LESS than any one of the old lamps! Thanks Michael.

Murf,
Just think of all the heat you don't have! This means that your fixtures won't melt, your A/C's won't be running as much, and don't forget that because the current draw is so much less, your house batteries will last longer since they will have fewer discharge/charge cycles!
Since we are at our winter location in Florida where we pay for electric, we are enjoying smaller power bills than ever before with many of our 12v lights on (we typically leave our porch, step, scare, and bbq lights on all night because the dog is 16 and a half and has to go out to potty frequently).
