Full Time RV and med ins.

Starting in July wife & I will be on the road snowbirding. We're thinking of registering in South Dakota because of lower vehicle costs (we're currently Calif residence). We're both on Medicare and we're having trouble sorting through all the regs Medicare has. We'll probably be spending winters in Ca or AZ or Nv.....Anyone have any suggestions?

I get mine through the mail and have them shipped to our Mail Forwarding Service, we use the Goodsam Service in Florida, and then have them forwarded to where ever we happen to be.

Fortunately we aren't faced with those decisions. DW & I both covered by Medicare AND Tricare For Life since I am also retired military.

How much time do you need to allow from the order date? Mail order is taking a week or more now for our Express Scripts orders. I believe we can't renew too many days in advance of the renewal date.

We also are on Medicare and have good BC/BS employer health insurance. We pick up our medication at Wall mart , CVS, Wall greens all over the country with no problems. We have no problem with health care anywhere in the country.

We home base in Kansas and use our Escapee mail forwarding for billing. Persciptions at Walmart all over the country and seek services where we need them. Have yet to have an issue and we've had some major problems dealt with.

Wife and I both have Medicare part A only. We also have BC/BS 99.9% for her. She gets her meds at Walgreens anywhere. I'm a disabled vet, VA takes care of mine.

Not sure what suggestions you are looking for, but if you are on a standard Medicare plan A and B, you go to any Medicare provider and you are covered. The 20% Medicare does not cover is driven by whatever supplemental insurance you have or don’t have. We do not have part D because we are covered for perscription drugs thru tricare for life, so hopefully someone on the forum can offer advice re part D.
