sewer boom
Just wondering if anyone has modified their sewer line to make sewer boom compatible with Rhino sewer hoses. Thinking of shortening by maybe up to 2" to allow ease of hook up and rotation for different sewer locations,

We just use a 10 foot hose that will fit the boom, use a cap on the end, then use whatever hose we need to make the connection. Haven't seen a need to modify the boom.

I removed it and added a plastic tube carrier. There were far too many places I needed 20 ft. to hook up for the boom to be worth it.

Remove OEM boom, bought long hose carrier from camping world, installed in place of OEM boom. Cut lugs off of rhino and modified end to fit connection. Been working fine over 4 years. Bought second carrier and mounted to frame near boom. Gives me 27'.

We used to like the boom until it cracked, then went to a fence post under the rig and a tote to carry all our hose. We also added a knife valve and clear elbow were the boom had been. Last winter we had a wonderful site, but we needed 62'.

Rhino not that different than the valterra viper and dominator hoses that I use in my boom. One remains compressed in boom and others added as needed. That boom is the same EZ hose carrier sold by cw and others with one end cut off. Had to replace mine when a mega orange cone in ny state took out my boom. John

Mine must be different as my Rhino with a 45 added or not is too close to hinge portion to easily connect. That is why I am thinking of shortening the sewer line 1-2" for added clearance.

If I understand what you're saying, take the boom off the rig, thread the hose thru and connect and then put the boom back on and leave it connected.

I shortened our sewer line and added a clear pipe and gate valve, so doing it for a Rhino shouldn't be an issue. I also cut off half of the corrugated rubber cover as what the unit came with was way too long and kept the boom from being moved much past 45 degrees from it's resting spot. I also added a longer tube (5 foot?) on the boom, and went with white which looks better, IMHO. Something like $9 at CW.

DQDICK: Good idea, but no my problem is the end of sewer line is too close to tube hinge mechanism making connection difficult when drop is rearward, connecting to drops forward no problem, have to use 45 in either direction, except near straight out.
Tom S.: Like your idea, think I will shorten as you did and add manual valve, that way I would be able to leave connected as DQDICK stated and should be able to connect to any drop in any direction. To put 5" clear connector and manual valve plus clearance, looks like I will need to shorten by about 12", if this doesn't interfere with rear gray water drain.
Thanks for all your inputs.
