Cutting heat and looking good

We went to Home Depot and got some Artscape film and put it on the skylight in the shower. Cut the heat coming in at least in half and made it look pretty
Since I can't figure out how to post pictures here, you can see it on the Montana Owners facebook page

Thanks Rondo. We're also in the process of putting the room darkening ones on the cabinets like you showed me.

Would love to see your work on this. I see two FB groups. Joined both but can't find your photo. Not well versed in FB.

In our last trailer the bathroom was larger and more open (we usually had the doors open) so I put a piece of Reflectix in the skylight. This essentially meant we had no skylight as it blocked all the light. There was also the issue of extra light spilling into the bedroom as this bathroom had doors to the hall and the bedroom, so this was a good solution.

But if you want to maintain a skylight but with less light, this looks to be a good solution.

On facebook I'm Richard Montgomery and I shared the photo from my wife Joyce Jenkins. Should be able to see it on either of our sites.

I looked and even searched your name on the Facebook group. Perhaps you could post the URL.

Did you have to buy more than one sheet?

Also, how do you cut it with the curved surface?

Thanks and very nice! How does it stay up. I assume it is on the inside?

It comes on a roll and we didn't use half of it. The skylight is two parts. We took the inside part down and could have put it on the outside (easier) or the inside. The wife makes those decisions so we went with the inside. Did it on the kitchen counter. It's the same kind of thing as you use to tint car windows only thicker so you put the water on, squeeze out the bubbles and trim around the edge with a razor blade knife. For as good as it looks it's really easy. We also got dark window tinting and did our cabinet and pantry windows so folks no longer see what's in there. Same thing just window film.

That really looks nice and it seems that it would still give you enough light.

I would think that it would be more difficult to apply it to the outside part. It would be like sticking it to the ceiling only it's not flat.

Yes, plenty of light still comes in. Since we removed the inner liner of the skylight and applied it on the kitchen counter and then put the inner liner back, I meant applying it to the outside of the inner liner seemed easier.
