2955RL 50 Amp Service Question

I have an anniversary model 2955RL with one AC unit. I am installing a landing pad at my home for parking and want to install a 50 amp service. I want to confirm the 50 amp service is really a 230 volt single phase hookup. I know everything on the Monty is 115, how does the Nonty use the 230 single phase system, does it only use 115 to ground for half the 230 feed ( and the other half goes to the box for the front AC, if installed) or does it equally load both phases. Just curious before I smoke something.
Thanks

jpbcny,

Thanks for that web site. I'm looking to have installed a service at the stick house and the site will come in handy.

Yeppers - JP's link pretty much explains it. The 50A 230 volt single phase is an RV standard. The Montana accepts it but does not take advantage of the 230V for anything onboard. Several folks have used this asset and rewired in a household dryer using 230V.

Just for the general MOC public, the 50A service has not always been the same on Montana. Up to mid 2003, it was a 30A 110V service modified with an optional dedicated 20A 110V service for a 2nd AC unit, all connected using a modified version of the 50A service that was compatible to the 50A RV park standard receptacle. Our original Montana had that service and was called a 30A+20A. The panel had only one bus. Late 2003, Montana changed all models to a 50A+50A 230V system like you have in your 2009.
