Montana 3402 black tank sensers. I see when i looked under ther tank that there are 5 connectors with leads. All the new ones comes in packs of 4. Not sure why there is 5 connections . Has anyone replaced these ?

Sensors don't work in the world of RVing....of course there are a few exceptions.
4, 5 sensors won't make a difference, it was just a part that keystone had on hand when they built your trailer.

Forget the sensors, you'll know when the tanks are full

I don't rely on them. Certainly not as real measurements.

We have never had a Rv that had properly working OEM sensors and we have had 6 RV's.

We spent the money on the last rig for outside the tank sensors and they worked great. The problem is we already knew when we needed to empty the black tank and so we never used them except to show folks how well they worked. Since that wasn't worth the moeny we don't have them on the new one.

tank sensors
I do not trust the black tank sensors. Mine read full most of the time. This is my 7th RV. Never had one I could trust. I dump every 3 or so days. You can always use a flash light to take a look on how full the tank is

Calling them sensors is a stretch except when they are brand new. After you use them a few times a they are any but a sensor.

For my wife and I, we just wait for the “burp”. Empty the tank as soon as this happens because it’s almost full. This method never lies and is better than any sensor on the market. Btw, we live in ours for 6 months full time in the winter.

We have a 3402 and really like it a lot. I quit looking at the sensors after our first year. Experience will let you know when to dump.

I have a 3402 and went with See Level gauges and they seem to work very well. This is another problem that is industry wide that needs to be corrected. You paid for the gauges so they should work period.
