A good nights sleep question?
Hey All,
Someone (Max) posted about his "Sleep number mattress" bed. We upgraded out to the Tempur-Pedic Mattress. We ordered the head raise device but the problem it raises both side. Sometimes that does not work for us. Sleep Number looks like you can raise either side independently from each other. But how is the mattress itself? Also does it get hot from laying on it? We have the so called COOL GEL but that doesn't really work that well, for me anyway. I kind of hate to be putting more money in to a bed that we don't know anything about but to get a good nights sleep we may have to change it out

Tempur-pedic or Sleep Number you have to have the split mattress and split adjustable base to raise/lower each side independently.

That I understand. Does or do you know if tempur-pedic have a split system? They (dealer) did not say anything about having a split system. But thank you for that information. Something to look in to.

I know Tempur-pedic offers split king in some models. They have a number of different models.

Don’t know how long you have had it, but Tempur-pedic has a 90 day trial period. Maybe you could trade.

The Sleep Number r5 is the model that is/was made for rvs. It is shorter and narrower than the standard king size SN beds. Ours has two air mattresses but all other components are one piece which means it cannot be used as a split mattress.

How does this mount? Screw to existing plywood?

The Sleep Number split adjustable set up will not work in an RV since it is a complete system itself, from what I understand. One would have to take out the complete box system under the mattress and install the system and I don't think that is possible with the Montana bedroom slide/s. We have the Sleep Number in our unit and just adjust two individual air bladders to each of our own comfort. IF needing to raise the head of the bed you can always buy one of those large wedge shaped foams to do that.

The SN mattress simply lies on the plywood base that comes with king size option. Mine came with a queen size bed so I used some 3/8" plywood to make a king base.

My hubby and I have been sleeping on a SN 9000 for over 10 years , and I love it still. The mattress/ memory foam is awful. Wish Montana dealers would allow us an upgrade in mattresses because I would have definitely picked another SN! We literally just bought the last of the new 2019 Montana 3701LK in February.
