Finally starting Longtiming!
After being "freed" by the doctors to leave, we are finally starting our Longtime lifestyle. We left a very cold Michigan today and got as far as Wapakoneta, OH, north of Dayton. Maybe we will see the Kentucky Horse Farm in Lexington and then through the Smokies. We are to be in Central Florida in a couple of weeks then over to the Clearwater area for a week with our daughter and her family. Then up to Mt Rushmore for the end of May, first part of June and possibly returning to our stick house mid-June. This is definately a first for us and we are really looking forward to it. We are driving south now, against the rv flow - all seem to be coming north. Only saw one Monte near Findlay but could not tell if they flashed back because of the traffic.

Jim & Carol, REALLY glad to here that all the northbound RVs are on the road NOW. We are planning on leaving Central FL April 21 and heading up to Mich (N. MI where there is still 2 ft of snow and 6 inches MORE due tomorrow - what's up with that?!?). Will be there by the end of that week, after a stop over at our dealership in Clyde, OH. I did not want to be packed in on the highway heading north. Although, there is something to be said for "drafting"... just makes the wife a little nervous when I do it...

The Lexington KY Horse Farm is a wonderful place!!! They were in the middle of doing renovations in the office when I was there, hopefully that will be over when y'all get there. I would love to go there in the summer, I'll bet it's even more beautiful with the trees and flowers in bloom. Anyway, it's a great place, hope you enjoy it...:-)

Jan, how much do they charge for an entry fee? Cheryl and I go by the signs all the time.

Thanks, all, for your kind wishes and words. We are now in Berea, KY. The only bad part of the journey happened today, during a heavy rainstorm driving through Cincinnati, OH - a semi "drifted" into us as he passed and clipped the side of the Monty and knocked the side view mirror askew. A slight scrape on the side of the Monty. Heavy traffic and rain and no stopping to even see if we were damaged until later. But, we woke up this morning - we are ahead of the game and blessed to be in this position.

Thanks, Jim & Carol! Sorry to hear of your incident. You're right... If you are breathing, you're blessed.
And that's why God created INSURANCE.
