Furry "friends"

Just met my first little furry friend - a field mouse - in my 3400RL yesterday. Caught him in a trap but am looking for suggestions on how to keep 'em out.

Already stuffed steel wool around all the pipe entrances from the storage bins. But I'll probably need to do more - just don't know what.....

Thanks.

I was told that your little friend do not Hot sauce, mix hot sauce with water and spray around the bottom of the walls and that should take care of those little furry friends from inviting them selfs for a free meal..

At the risk of sounding cruel,,,use D-Con poison. It compells them to go outside and seek water before they die. Sorry

Karen & Rich,
When trying to keep them out we also went under the kitchen cabinets and sealed the holes coming into that area in addition to where the pipes run through the storage areas. I was traping them but wonder if the bait doesn't attract them as well. If you're not checking the traps every other day it can get pretty messy.

we use bounce fabric softner sheets. they don't like it, but it also keeps the camper smelling fresh.we put them both in outside and inside cabinettes.

Two words....Moth Balls but only if you are putting the rig into storage for the winter. Otherwise the smell may also repel you and the other half.

Since we discovered that there was a family of Red Tailed Squirels in our Challenger at the end of September, we put drier softener sheets down thru holes below the floors all over the place. Since then, the coach has been on the move to the Rally and all, so.... don't know for sure if the drier sheets will work or not.

MIMF2, I would be curious to hear how it goes with your red squirrels as we have been tormented by them for the last two winters. I have stuffed hardware cloth around openings and steel wool too, put out traps, poison etc but they are smart little beggers and kept coming back. I have heard that coyote urine will send them running but it may do the same for me and my wife so I just don't know.

Anyway, let me know if the dryer sheets do the trick.

Thanks

Karen and Rich,
In addition to what you have done already and the comments received, I put wire mesh (hardware cloth) over the open area around each rear stabilizer. Also put mesh and steel wool inside the propane compartments. I sealed the open area around the springs underneath and the places near the frame not sealed. I used spray foam.
The Monty has been in the country for the last 4 weeks and no sign of the mice so far. Might be a different story when the cooler weather arrives. I sure hope not!
Good luck,

Weldon
