Phantom "beep"
Have the rig at the stick house loading for a 3 week trip to NM. Every 3-4 minutes we hear a low volume "beep". I noticed my smoke detector was 10 years old and replaced it today. The propane leak detector in my rig is in the kitchen and hard wired. There is a CO detector in the bedroom-also (I think) hard wired. We can't seem to tell where it's coming from. Is there anything else in a 2007 3400RL that will "beep"? I should mention that I do have high frequency hearing loss and wear hearing aids. Thanks.

The propane detector may have reached its end of life. There should be a replace by date, probably on the back side. If you have never replaced it, it is probably well past due. It will beep like that.
My CO detector is battery powered. Will also beep.

My propane detector has blinking lights along with beeps. The code for the blinking lights is printed on the detector. There is a specific blink sequence (I forget what it is) for End-of-Life. I think the CO detector in the bedroom has a similar light sequence but as I recall, it doesn't beep, it SCREECHES !!!! (try that at 3 am)

Thanks everyone!!! By process of elimination it was the CO detector in the bedroom. I remembered I had it replaced a couple of years ago-forgot it had batteries . Three new AA's and we are good to go!
Since the propane detector in the kitchen is hardwired, does it have an "end-of-life" as well? Would you recommend go replace with a hard wired one or a battery operated one?
Thanks!
You guys are awesome!!!!

My propane detector is hard wired and had an end of life date on the back. Replaced it several years ago when it started beeping.

Had to replace two propane detectors on our old rig. Neither one lasted as long as it said it should.

Our rig is five years old, and we have had to replace all three detectors. The last to fail, the smoke detector, I replaced with one with a 10 year battery, and when it gets to it's end of life, you just replace it. Even though these detectors are supposed to last a certain number of years, you have no idea what chemicals they have been exposed to, and how that will shorten there life. Our CO detector didn't even make it two years. The next to fail, a little over two years ago, was the propane detector, which just started screeching very loud in the middle of the night. The only thing I could do, half asleep, was to grab my pocket knife and cut the hot wire to stop it. The smoke detector I replaced earlier this year when it started acting weird, again in the middle of the night and we had a grand-daughter staying with us who was scared to death from the noise it made.
