fireplace insert
Has anyone installed a fireplace insert that did not come with one?
We would like to add one to our 2950RK and believe we could put it under our entertainment unit. Also is there a contact at dimplex for dimensions of there units? I tried doing a search on dimplex site but did not come up with anything.
Thanks in advance

I have been considering this as well.
How many amps do they draw? Which side are they typically wired to, L1 or L2?
Thanks,
Drew

in doing some research, it draws about 15 amps, they recommend a dedicated circuit but it is not required. It would plug into a standard outlet, hopefully somewhere close to your install. We have an outlet right above are install area,so it would not be a problem. The issue right now is finding one to fit the opening we have,if possible.

We bought the Burley Oakham because it was a total of 5 1/4" deep so it fit in the cupboard under the entertainment center and the slide had a lot of clearance. The heater will take the chiil off in the morning and cuts down the furnace use. We are quite happy with it.

I just purchased a Dimplex fireplace from Lowes for my 2010 Mountaineer 326 for $249.00. It is very nice and comes with the trim kit and remote control. It is a special order but only takes about five days.

Bubbabc do you know the model# of the unit you ordered so I have an idea witch one works. I am thinking about installing one in my 3295RK.

Hi Larry, The Model number for the fireplace is DFB4047 The item number is 219615. It is a very nice unit and came with the trim kit. It fit in the hole perfect. All I needed to do was take off the two cabinet doors and remove the center post which is attached by four screws. After removing the center post I removed the bottom panel which is also attached to the floor with four screws. There was no cutting involved and if I ever want to remove the fireplace I can reattach the doors with no problem or damage. For $249.00 it is just as nice if not nicer then the factory fireplace. The ones you get from the factory do not have the trim kit. I think it was a good investment. Bubbabc
