We use 3M Command fasteners, either the hooks or the hook and loop type, similar to Velcro. As long as you do not want to hang very heavy items, these will work quite well.

The nice part is they are easy to remove, without damage to the wall.
For family photos, I use RV Framz. They just stick to the wall.

Command hooks for us also. 70,000 miles with 11 pictures on the wall in our old rig and none feel down ever. The trim over the big slide fell off once, but the pictures stayed in place.

Can you elaborate on "RV Framz"? It sounds interesting but a Google has nothing.
We use Command Hooks to hang pictures without putting holes in the wall. But they seem to only last about 2 years before the heat on the walls causes them to loosen and fall.

I put one nail into the wall and then use putty on the bottom of the picture or whatever you are hanging to stop it from moving.

There is no residue from the putty when you want to remove it and the little hole from the nail is easy to fill with filler.
