Daggone, done wrecked twice
It was not serious, just a blow to my self-esteem with regards to aviation! DW got me one of those remote control helicopters for my Christmas toy. She never had the batteries, so off to Wally World I go this morning for the required aviation fuel. Hurried back, excited to test my prowess as an aviator, and disappointment soon becomes a reality. Dog starts barking after liftoff in protest of the invasion of her airspace, cat retreats to what he thinks is a safe corner, and after an initial fly by of both creatures, it readily becomes apparent that the fearless aviator has absolutely no clue as to what he is doing. No landing skills whatsoever, daggone 10 foot ceiling is too low by about ten feet, I did avoid the walls, but the ceiling claimed the vertical ascent procedure twice and the whirly-bird came crashing to earth whilst the creatures looked upon with a condescending smirk (at least that is what it looked like to me!!) Okay, time for a lot more practice, no damage to the bird so far, but I have no prediction of the life span of this toy in the hands of a reckless aviator wanna-be!!! Merry Christmas to all!! Hee Hee!!

I know hou you feel, I got one last year and now I don't have it anymore They are kind of like hearing aids. If you leave them laying around, dogs love them

I wouldn't feel bad. RC planes are hard enough to fly, my understanding is that the helicopters are much more difficult.

Great story Bingo!
It certainly captivated my attention when I saw the title.
Perhaps you should take it to the next rally
and let the professional’s aid in a few aviation lessons.
Merry Christmas, and have fun with your new toy.
On edit, how many fly-bys will you be allowed
when it gets too close to the girls?

Getting better, crash landed on Amanda's lap a couple of minutes ago. The pets are definitely intimidated by the aerial assault. Now if I can just figure out how to integrate a previous "toy" gift into the new gift I will have it made. A multi-fire Nerf gun!! Crash landings with aerial dart missile assualts, that's what I'm talking about!! Why can't the toy makers give us these options up front?? Having fun in the hills folks!! Carry on!!

Bingo. I can relate to that. I got my first one just before the Fall Rally this year and it is still in Elkhart. A story I will tell you sometime.
