Maxx Air Vent covers
I had the dealership install these covers while in for warranty work and they put a half dollar size hole in the existing vent. They did not replace the vent cover but put the maxx air right over the top. I found this after on my final walkthrough before winter hibernation. The dealership told me under no circumstances will I get and moisture inside. Will the Maxx air keep out all moisture and even if the moisture is wind driven???

It should keep out most of it but I would not count on it keeping all the moisture out. I would say if they broke the vent they should replace it at their cost. I guess I don't understand why they didn't do this to begin with instead of trying to pass it along to you. I would hold their feet to the fire and make them replace it.

No question about it! They broke it-- they replace it!! I don't care what they say you will still get humidity into your unit with that hole in the original vent! You may not get MOISTURE in the form of rain or snow but it will let in the humidity easier. You don't want to open the unit up in the spring and find you've got mold and mildew all over the unit!

You also now have a hole to let in cold air when you don't want it in. I'd make them replace it. They broke it.

Yes they work good for keeping rain out, but moisture comes in all forms. moisture will get in. Time for the dealer to order a new cover for ya.

... and bugs! Fine wind driven mist (and snow) does get in.
I can't believe that for the insignificant cost of a vent cover they would even hesitate to replace it.

Sounds like a P.T. Barnum explanation. It is called spin. Even though I have never had moisture come in any of the MaxxAir covered vents, I would want to be able to seal up the rig against falling cold air. I would demand the fix what the broke.

I agree with the others. You don't want a hole in your vent.

The Maxxair will not keep dampness out. If it did, you'd never be able to circulate air out of the rig with the vent open!

It's hard to believe some of the asinine things dealers try to get away with! That's not a dealer, that's a crook.

After they fix it, do yourself a big favor and find a new dealer.

It will also let the Heat and Air out, so they can pay your Elec/Propane costs
