No Fuss Flush Failure

I had a leak in the camper this spring. Water would appear by the stairs to the bedroom. I finally figured out that it had something to do with my flush system. Well I finally found the vacuum breaker check valve in a place I never expected (between bathroom wall and cabinet wall by the entrance. But there was no inspection door. One is by the Shower head which I looked at but didnt see anything else.

After testing we found the vacuum breaker by sticking my arm into the shower access panel and felt the breaker. I cut another access to this breaker and it is cracked.

I winterized this line with a drill pump but maybe not enough as I could not see it but did see antifreeze coming out the waste hose.

So my question is do you think it was my winterizing procedure or something else that cracked this breaker?

Thanks,
Drew

Drew,

Sorry to hear about the mess. I suspect it was just failure of the valve. I've never antifreezed mine, and you shouldn't really have to. Once air enters the valve, water drains down both sides.

Drew, Mine snapped in half (same thing on our 3400: had to cut my own access door) due to the way it was clamped against the wall, pinching "U" shaped legs together, putting undue stress on that cross piece. After 18 months of FTing, it finally cracked. Bad install procedure.
