I agree. I usually try to be non-judgmental in my wording since there are differing opinions on anything.
I will add that this forum is a bit more tame than others I visit.
All in all, I have to say that I take more than I give to this forum, due to the people here willing to share their knowledge, usually in a respectful manner.

Because I was a lifeguard when I was young. Because I did a lot of recoveries while serving on helicopters, because I operated tow trucks many years, I do lean toward over caution. JMHO

Well the really important thing about driving a DRW vs. a SWR is all the real truck guys come up to me and say, "wow, that's a really cool big truck". LOL

We have had two DRW's because we have had two Montana's that required them. They are big, ugly and a pain in the butt. I am glad we only have to drive it when we pull the Montana.

I originally thought I'd only use the DRW truck for towing the Monty, but the more I drive it, the more I like the comfort and size of the cab. I've driven it for routine trips around town to test could I do it. Since I only drive 4000 miles a year on my own, I now can justify selling my compact car. I estimate I'll save a lot in insurance, property taxes, and car maintenance. Most of my driving is with my wife in her car or towing the Monty.

90 to 95% of the time the dully moves it has the Montana attached to it. It is comfortable for a big truck but I need two parking spots to park the thing. It has the turn ratio of a cruise ship. The wife has a Honda Odyssey and we drive that most of the time. The truck 7 years old and has 65K miles on it nearly all of it pulling the Montana's. We only drive it when necessary. It is great tow vehicle

Mine is my daily driver. My wife drives the CTS, but my truck has more doo dads and features lol lol ... But then here in Texas lots of duallies are daily drivers. The cool factor is great. I have had lots of people come up and tell me I got a cool lookin truck. My son says when I am done with it he is gonna buy it lol lol lol... Don't really notice much difference in driving it or the old 2500, other then maybe not wanting to crowd folks so I park out in the open areas and it don't fit in some drive thrus. But then I need the exercise anyways lol lol......

Dave, that is a very good point. I could use the exercise, too. I should have also mentioned in my experiences several pages back that, a dually does ride nicer then a SRW. Especially, where potholes are concerned, they seem to strattle the hole. And of course, cornering is better, too.

Well Ole Rich does not want the exercise it tires me out. We are considering a 2105 F-350..maybe....We are checking the spec's on the SRW and if the carry capacity is there it will be a SRW.

This one really turned into a p***ing contest, to the point of almost getting into personal attacks in some posts.
The only thing that matters is whether the truck is rated for the weight that will be placed on it. All else is purely personal opinion, and typically biased personal opinion. Many say the DRW is far more stable. But many say the SRW has no stability issues at all. Some say the DRW rides better. Some say the SRW rides better. Some say they can park a DRW anywhere they want. Some say they have trouble even getting a long bed SRW in many parking places. And it goes on and on. I have never seen any comparative technical studies done to verify any of the claims.
Religion, politics, and SRW/DRW arguments can't be won.
So after 7 pages of back and forth isn't it time to let it die??????

You are exactly correct.
The problem is that the good folks who tow over weight, insist on making comments on how wonderful their trucks tow, never had a problem, they bought the smaller truck because it's a daily driver, etc, etc. Bottom line is they are over weight, won't admit it and will lead others, who are trying to learn in order to buy a truck that meets the standards, astray.
