Where to buy a replacement fridge?
My 3 way fridge just went out in my 5'er. I need to know where to buy a residential (AC only) version to put in its place. Tried searching the forums, but "refrigerator" brings up WAY too many results. lol
The hole I'm working with is 5*2*2. Is there a way to search based on size? Is there a goto retailer that everybody uses when this situation comes up?

Cannot help with your question other than to suggest a call to CS and ask what residential refer was an option in your 5er. Will still need to measure and possibly make a modification.
Unlikely one will fit in the door like an RV refer. Most of the time furniture is moved and rear window removed to get a res refer in.

You're going to be a bit hard pressed to find a residential fridge 2 feet wide if I'm reading your measurements correctly unless you're thinking dorm sized.

Yes it is 2 feet wide and yes, "dorm" type fridges are what people go with. I've talked to several people who have done this but they all just went to a retailer and gave them the measurements and let them do the searching.

Good idea on calling CS. I'll look them up.

U can find a small 10 cu. ft. that will fit at Lowes,Home depot,or sears. U might have to do some trimming but most will come thru the trailer door if you take off the frig door.

Thank you. I was looking on Amazon and surprisingly enough, their prices aren't as good as Home Depot. Using my measurements, I did find that 10 cu ft is "just right". I'm eyeballing a 10.7 cubic foot by Whirlpool right now that would have me shaving a 1/4 inch off the left and right sides.

I know several people that have put in the 10 cu ft. They fit in with no modifications. I guess you will have to decide if the 10.7 is worth the modification. Everyone that have installed them have been very pleased with them.

Yeah, the Whirlpool 10.7 has better reviews and I like it more than the Frigidaire...BUT, I don't like the fact that I'll have to mod it, but 1/4 inch really isn't that big of a deal. I could basically sand that much off.

Understand your reservations completely but forge on as you will love the residential fridge mod.
Remember also, the sign of a good carpenter sometimes is how well one covers their mistakes up. They make lots of trim pieces to cover once you have cut the hole.
