Slide out seals

I was wondering if anyone had improved the seals on their slide outs? I get tired of looking under my bed when the slide is out and seeing daylight because the seal does not work very well. When I crawled under the left side of the bed to get a good look at the seal I was surprised that it is a very flimsy/thin piece of rubber that has to leak if you are in any sort of windy conditions. I am sure my 3160 would heat and cool much better if I had fewer air leaks. My SOB seemed to have a better sealing system. I think they called it a triple seal or something like that. From what I can see the slide outs actually seal better in the closed position.

If you stand under the bedroom slide while someone is retracting the slide ... make sure the bottom flap seal is dragged inside as it goes in. The next time you open the slide, it will hold against the bedroom slide floor way better.

I find out on our new unit that it seals much tighter that the other two Montana's we owned before. On a windy day you could feel air coming around all of the slides. On this new one we have been in 50+ MPH winds and I did not feel any air coming in. Like dieselguy states above check under the slide. On one of our other units it was not installed properly and did not work right.

We have never had a serious issue with seal leaks. As already stated, they can get folded up and once in a while, you have to pull them all the way out. Periodic spraying with 303 protectant or a similar product will significantly reduce that, keeping them pliable.
