Dave W I agree with your comments. The HC was not only the best bang for my buck it is the best camper for me. If I had wonted the Montana I could have bought it no problem and paid cash for it. Some of us aren’t buying the HC because it’s cheaper we buy it because it’s fit our needs better.

Some snob comments are correct and some don't know what they are talking about. My HC has a 12" frame, there are other benefits of the Montana not on the HC. Once one has to clean hydraulic fluid the electric slides are a huge benefit. The only thing I miss is the higher trim level, but the benefits of the HC make up for that.

We purchased the 352RL HC because it had what we wanted in a 5er for long term traveling! We didn't need the stove that every con-planes about, the level-up that every one con-planes about not working when it gets cold or leaking oil! As far as slide out go I
have had all three in diff 5er's and they all have good & bad the nice thing about cables if
one brakes I can fix it at the CG and move on! Once you peal the skin off they are not that much Diff in the two!

To me they are the same - just different levels and floor plans. Pick the right one for you and don't worry what someone else says.

I owned both. Had the HC 305RL then traded for a Montana 3000RE. They each have something different to offer. I never got a snob attitude from any one. Don't let stuff like that get under your skin. Life is too short! Also, never let a few folks run you off. There are a lot of folks here that are friendly and knowledgeable.

Sounds like it's time to get back to what this forum is all about, helping each other and developing friendships. Or, we could start a thread on who's truck is the best

I spent an hour on the phone with one of the product managers at Keystone trying to decide between a HC and a Montana. Frame is different, walls are same, different flooring, different ducting and heat a/c , bed platform material is different, 6 point hydraulic vs 4 point electric leveling, cable vs enclosed hydraulic slides, supposedly upgraded furniture, heavier axle, different suspension, different pin box, really a lot of difference for around 5k. Not a snob at all, just wanted to know the differences from the factory vs a salesman that started out with the statement that the HC was the top of the line. It took a lot of effort to get the onion peeled back so to speak to get the facts straight from the factory. As we are not full timers but will spend up to 12 weeks a year on some high mileage trips the Montana made more sense for our use than the HC. Looked at Jayco Northpoint and Eagle, I feel the HC has more bang for the buck than a Eagle. Either the HC, Montana or Montana w/ Lecagy package are very nice units. It's what makes you happy and firs your specific needs.

Well when we started looking at 5ers, I told our salesperson that we did not have Montana money. We had HC money. We looked at several smaller units, because I was trying to hold the line on price. DW did not like the islands in the kitchen. We walked in the 379RD and that was it. Now had she shown us the 3701LK, I may have had to find Montana money.
And now for the Karma part. She likes the kitchen sink soooo much she is wanting to remodel the kitchen.

Yes, the shorter HC has a 10" frame and 4 point leveling. That can be done as there is less weight than the longer and heavier HC models. At nearly 43' my HC has a 12" frame and 6 point auto level. If Montana had the same floor plan we may have bought that. Well under the cargo limit and still at 14,200# . The added ton on the Montana would mean a dually and after one if those I don't want another.

Snobbish were is that??? This is about the difference between two keystone models and why one may be more cost than the other. When compared the difference is usually easy to pick out. Right now there is the Montana and the Legacy Montana. There is a different price point and a difference in trim and other things. Keystone makes some nice TH's just not the Montana division.

The towing capacity of my 2017 Ram 2500 is 17200 lbs. I pull my High Country 345rl just fine. She's about 13000 fully loaded.

Must be really close on payload. I have a 2016 F350 that is about 1500# heavier and I'm getting close. All my front storage is loaded with heavy stuff. So is the front closet with separate washer and dryer.

Yes. Its maxed out on payload in the bed of the truck. Air bags take care of that. I only run about 20 to 30 psi in the air bags. It helps with the bounce up and down also.
Ram gives you a nice ride with coil springs but the payload numbers suffer. I think the overall gcvwr is right at 26000 lbs.

Only 1 thing not in our 370 BH that is in our 3000 sq ft S&B and that is a dishwasher. I appreciate the heat pump in the 5er more as I don't need to carry propane at the S&B. Still, not going to ever go full time. Need to regroup in that space at times and June - Aug even the over 55 CGs are over run.

I have the hc358bh 2017 came with 10”frame , 6 point leveling system , cable slides - 40’ 6 “ long , weighed 12,600 lbs at delivery . We looked at both and loved the Hc for the floor plan , most people we talk will buy for the layout and can their truck pull safely , we elo vex love ours and used it 18 times last year most trips averaged ten hour round trips - we love it,very few problems and will buy another one ! Funny how some get upset wth things here , you must remember your towing a mobile house down the road things happen just be thankful you have the freedom to go out and do this ,
