Door Prizes

We are going to have a great turnout at this Rally! We want to make sure that everyone recieves a door prize but not being anywhere near the local area it will be a challange so I am asking for help. We will be contacting RV dealers in our home town and asking for a donation for our upcoming Rally. We will also try and get national restaurant chains to donate (applebees, Chili's etc.).

We would appreciate everyone trying to do the same and bring the donation with you to the Rally (Hey you don't have to tell us the tacky light set you are donating was actually the gift you got in last years gift exchange and I promise we won't ask).

I will ask that if you bravely respond for this plea for help and do obtain a door prize please let me know how many you are bringing. I don't need to know what they are just how many we have so I can minimize the number of places on crawl to on my hands and knees on Wednesday after we get in town.

Bill and Lisa,
Mark us down for bringing something unique from West "By God" Virginia to use as you please. We will not be arriving until late Thursday night though. We look forward to seeing one of you crawling on your hands and knees to site #84 to pick it up!!! Ha Ha!!

Since I didn't consult with Lisa on the crawling bit ahead of time, it will be me!

Lisa,
What is the price range you are needing. Sometimes I find great deals at Cracker Barrel.

somewhere in the $5-$10 dollar range. Beggars aren't choosey. We just want to make sure we get a gift for everyone attending.

We are still debating spreading them out or doing them all at the pot luck supper. as we are going to do the gift exchange after the potluck we are looking for another time to do it but want to make sure we catch those that arrive late or have to leave early.

Need Info on Donations

Thank you for all your efforts to garner door prizes. We would like to give you certificates of appreciation to give back to the donating organizations or we can mail them to them. We would like to print these up in advance before we hit the road so PLEASE, as soon as possible, let us know the name of the organization and what they donated. If you want us to mail the certificate, please also provide the address, otherwise we will give you the certificates at the rally for you to take back and give to the organization which made the donation in person.

I will take the info either posted here or sent to me via email at rearick@cox.net

Thanks,
Bill and Lisa.

We will be bringing at least 4 door prizes that we already collected. Hopefully we will have more but not sure how many until we get there.

Come on folks. Let's all collect at least one door prize. We ALL like to win door prizes, that's just human nature, BUT you can only win if someone is willing to collect them. If we all put forth the effort we can all be winners and so what if we get more than the number of attendees, there ain't nothing wrong with some lucky MOCer(s) winning more than once.
You say "it's too late". I say "NO WAY". On your way to the rally I am sure you will be passing a Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc, etc, etc. It only takes a couple of minutes to ask the Manager if they would care to give you a donation. You maybe very surprised as to the generosity of some businesses. Heck, look around your own house. I am sure there is that Birthday or Christmas gift you received from some well meaning relative, like Uncle Horatio, that you never liked and never used. Heck, it may still be in the original package.

Bill and Lisa, I'm sorry I haven't written sooner about the door prizes I've collected or have promised locally:
$20 gift certificate (Crossroads Grill)
1 bike helmet (Gettysburg Bikes)
small brass elephant (Mr. Ed's Snacks and Elephant Museum)
1 night camping, 1 tee shirt, 1 mug, perhaps a cap or two (Gettysburg Campground)
2 bottles local wine (our donation from Adams County Winery)
1 new Handi-Vac food vacum sealer (our donation)

I hope this helps....
See you Thursday Thanks, Sandy
