Dale--Don't forget to take your drill with you because you have to drill out all the rivets and replace them with the bolts, washers and nuts furnished in the kit!

I think the stair issue has been going on for a while, about 5 years ago the steps on our 05 came apart. The rivets pulled out. All I was told then was gee that is too bad but nothing anyone would do,just an "isolated" case. We use our unit 5 or 6 times a year so it is not from constant use. I am glad to see they are "stepping" up and finally doing the right thing. My guess is someone did get hurt and pushed the right lawyer, oop's I mean buttons.

I don't have the Monty near, but it seems to me that getting at the rivets might be a problem on a few of them. Or can you get at them from the center of the steps? Or do you have to take the steps completely off and then fix them?
Just curious.

We had our stairs fixed on the recall by Oklahoma RV Center in Moore, OK this past Monday. It took them all of 1 hour to drill out the rivets from the center of the steps and replace with bolts, washers and lock nuts.

The steps definitely feel more secure and less flexible. Note the rivets where starting to bend before replacement.

We get ours done next Thursday @ CW. They said they had a inventory unit that needed the recall. Were going to do that one first so the tech could learn on it.

Okie, Did Keystone send you the parts? I asked for the parts and was told they had to be installed by a dealer.

Boomer, are the bolts anything special or just bolts like you get at a ACE hardware store?

Pictures anyone?

Thanks Jim
