High Country 343RL Pinbox

Can any of you tell me what the Lippert # is on a 343 RL Pinbox? My camper is in storage until late March and I am needing to get a Reese Sidewinder Pinbox for it as I have traded trucks and have a shorter bed. My camper is a 2013 model. Thanks

There should be an ID tag on the Pinbox with the Lippert # on it. Thanks

Harold, not sure if this will help you, but my '14 3150RL Montana has a MorRyde RPB72-1116 and the Mor/Ryde conversion says it replaces a Lippert 1116 pin box. My Mor/Ryde is the medium length.

The long extended Lippert is a 1716 pin assy or Mor/Ryde RPB72-1716

The bolt pattern is the same for both, just the distance from the mounting bolts to the pin. The long would be for moving the trailer further to the rear with a SB truck.

When they changed out my pin assy, they spot painted over the label on the frame part.

I had a 2001 model 2955 RL and replaced it with a 2011 323 High Country. The Montana pin box was different than the HC pin box. The hole spacing was different and the HC pin box was wider. To make the Montana pin box work on the High Country I had to drill new holes in it and make spacers about .3 inches long.

OK, I will edit my previous post. My neighbor has a '14 High Country 343RL. It appears his High Country has the same frame mount as my '14 Montana.

awhite,
I have a BD3 hitch in my truck which is an air bag equipped hitch. I only need the standard sidewinder Pinbox vs the air ride model. Thanks.

Make sure the hitch manufacture will approve the use of a sidewinder.

Be careful as ours was not correctly labeled. We had to wait a couple of weeks for the correct MorRyde pinbox to arrive and be installed. I think ours was labeled the same as our Cougar 318 SAB which was incorrect. The bolt pattern did not line up correctly. Good luck!

Hello Harold,

Yesterday I parked a guy that was not too good at backing. He had a short bed Ram with a High Country. A '13 or '14 I think. I offered to put his trailer on his spot for him. Got it in with no issues.

Before you spend the money on a new pin assy, if you have the long Lippert, I would try using it. The radius corners on the front cap will allow you to turn pretty sharp.

Jim

Thanks for that info. I just don't want to punch my back window out. It's a heated window with a power slider - I can only imagine how proud they would be to replace one of those. That Megacab eats up a good bit of room. My trailer is in secure storage and I cannot even get to it until the end of March to check out the pinbox. I'll pull it home and then have a much better feel if I'm going to be OK or not. It does have the long Lippert on it now.
