3400 RL Bedroom egress window

Our 2006 3400RL bedroom window (passenger side) was an egress only window which could not be opened for air flow. The bedroom air flow is pretty poor unless you use the ceiling fan. We noticed that the 2010 model had a window that opens for added air flow and yet is still a safety egress window. After much research we determined that Kinro part number F200-695 (VEPW series) window is an exact fit and has both a screen and proper hinge to allow opening for ventilation. we've just had it installed and the outside air temp is in the high 20's (F not C) so we won't be able to test it until we reach warmer weather.
I'll followup later to report how it works, but we think it will make a big difference.

I think I need to put that on my Christmas list.

We had a 2006 and our window had a screen on it and was open all the time during good weather, I guess I don't understand not being able to open that window. It is also the same with the window over the desk, it opened too.

I'm not sure when, but Keystone may have changed the design shortly after ours was built. Ours did not come with a screen, nor did it have the latch at the bottom center that holds the window open. Same is true of the desk window, however we can get enough air flow through the other desk window so it didn't bother us.

our 06 3400 build date April 06 has a escape window with a screen and the window opens. You may hve a incorrect window. I would call Keystone and inquire.

Ours fell out on the way to the Rally. Keystone replaced it and told us that the window is actually not for ventilation--after the window is opened several times the hinges break away--so we will not be using ours for ventilation anymore. glad we have the second A/C. I guess the screen is there to make us feel better

We have opened and closed ours hundreds of times with no problem.
We have the bedroom A/C, but the ventilation is still important to us.

If you ordered the double pane windows, the escape window did not have a screen, who knows why? The single pane windows did have the screen. We replaced our escape windows with escape windows that had a slider window in them, also a screen. The ventilation is great. Ozz has a link to some photos where he replaced his windows. We did the same and the job was not hard to do at all. Kinro makes the windows and we ordered our replacements from them. BTW, Kinro is now owned by Lippert.
