King Bed Base

I am wondering if anyone who has the Mountaineer 310 could tell me if the plywood base of a king size bed is actually the full width of the bed, or if a queen mattress would cover the width. We have an awesome queen mattress that we will need to get rid of, but thought we could transfer it to the new Mountaineer 310. Only if it will fit ok though. This will also give us more walk around room in the bedroom, not much but some.
