It's been a while since I helped another individual who had done the same thing as you. Opened the emergency egress too far and it fell out. If memory serves me correct we had to hold the window about 45 degrees to the frame and jockey the top of the window frame, (like a male hinge), into the slot, (female hinge) of the fixed frame. It took some maneuvering to accomplish but very doable. These emergency windows are made to fall out so you can have free egress without battling the window.
