Superglide Lubrication

Does anyone have experience with the graphite spray ( SLIP ) that pullrite now recommends for lubrication of the way tubes?

Richard,I have a pullrite hitch that I pull with.I use the slip plate graphite spray. Never had any problems easy to use and clean.Just spray on the nite before I leave out.You can check out www.slipplate.com about price. I think its about 57 dollars for 6 -12 ounce cans. This is all I have ever used. 2007 3485sa. Hope this helps Steve 1952.

I was told recently by a customer service rep. at Pullrite that if your Superglide has the plastic (Delrin) plate that slides on the way tubes, then you do NOT need special lubes, just a light coating of W-D 40 or 3 in 1 oil.

3-in-1 is all I use. Kingdaddy is 100% correct.

I believe SuperGlide change config of their hitches the past 2 years. For us that have had them longer Slipplate dry graphite is a good lubricant? for the older ones. There also is maintenance and for that your Owners manual is a great guide.

Correct...Superglides after 12/09 should come with the plastic wear plate and do not need the Slip plate lube. Check your owners manual if in doubt.

I use slip plate and like it a whole lot better than the white lithium grease I used to use. Slip Plate doesn't pick up dirt and other debris. I found it cheapest at Grainger. Something around $8 per can.

By the way, at the 2009 Fall Rally I asked at the Lippert vendor presentation how often we should lubricate the rails. They said "every trip." I pointed out when we're between point A and point B sometimes we overnight two or three or four nights in a row without unhitching. So what, exactly, constitutes "trip?" They conferred for a few seconds then said to lubricate no later than about 1100 miles. So that's the rule I've followed ever since and it seems to be working just fine. I lubricate between 600 and 1100 miles, whenever is convenient within that framework.

Ours is prior to the plasticized rails so requires either slip plate or grease. I understand there will be a retrofit kit to replace the rails and the other part that slides on the rails with the new plasticized ones but it won't be cheap.
