Bad Tire Winter
Don't know if it's the increasingly bad roads or what, but when we got back to our place at The Ranch, in Lakewood, NM we were one of six with damage from blown tires. One TT and 5 fivers. Three of the fivers blew more than one. One poor couple lost one on each side.

Leaving for Arizona in a couple days, some of the roads were terrible in places last year, 8 from Yuma to Tucson , and also 10 going from Quartzite to Indio, Cal.
Roads were a big reason other then the G614's were over six years old, replaced them last week with the Sailuns. Didn't want to have any issues because of old tires.

Sounds like the day after the NASCAR race at Bristol Va. 3 years ago we went south the day after the Bristol race and there was every kink of camper made from popups to motor homes on the side of the road with blown tires.

Seen that after several NASCAR races. Usually the rigs have gone by me doing 80 with 60mph tires before we passed them later by the side of the road.

Most people don't know they have 65 MPH rated tires on their campers and have no idea they need to be properly inflated. These campers should not be put out on 75 80 MPH interstates with 65 MPH tires.

Yuppers, most ST tires have a 65mph rating. I believe even the G614 has only a 70mph speed rating. We gotta know our limitations, especially when we realize even when using whatever and mishaps will occur anyway... Why push it.
Case in point... I can't imagine DQDick would be the kind of person to be an abusive owner and he still lost a tire. It can happen. Must have been bad roads.

Been there. Couple years ago traveling about 60 mph eastbound on US 380 between Carrizozo and Capitan, NM when a pickup towing a LARGE heavy boat passed us doing (guessing) 75-80. Just after passing, smoke started boiling out of the driver side trailer tires, then rubber, then sparks before he could slow and pull off. Narrow road, unpaved shoulders sloping off into the ditch. I considered stopping, but then thought better of it and left him to his own dumb mistakes.

G614's and I don't tow over 60 mph. I'm in no hurry.
