Another low kitchen water pressure question

Hi folks! I've been hunting through posts about low kitchen water pressure and I'm guessing I've got some buildup in the aerator or the pressure restriction device. What I can't figure out is how to take apart the aerator to clean it, and just want to be sure of what the restriction device looks like. My faucet is a gooseneck style with an extensible spray hose. I've included pictures of the faucet and the plumbing underneath. If anyone has one of these and can tell me how to open it up, that would be super. Also looking for a picture of the restriction device if anyone has one, or someone to circle it on the pictures I've got. Thanks!

I had the same issue and could not figure out how to get the faucet apart. I in essence flushed out each side removing one supply line and turning back on the water. So, remove hot supply line and let water from the cold supply flush out the hot supply line. Repeat in the opposite direction.

Pull the sprayer out. Unscrew the flexible hose attached to it. The filter is at that end.
Check the Hoses connecting to your water pump. They have screens too.

Thanks Daryles! I was able to get the sprayer end off, is there a way to remove the screens to clean them? I think we're only looking at issues here, because when running from the pump, all the other faucets have fine pressure.

If anyone can figure out how to get those "ends" apart to separate the insides and clean the back side of that last screen off, I sure would appreciate it.

My mother's house had one of those faucets and even after 10 years, I could never figure out how that thing came apart. In my own house, we have 2 of them. One in the kitchen and one in the utility room. I can't figure out how they come apart either. The one in the kitchen (house) has been running slow for a couple years now. Every time I take the end off the hose, the dang thing slips back into the goose neck and then it's a horrible job trying to get that hose fished back up into the goose neck.

Then there is my Montana fifth wheel that also has one and I absolutely cannot get it apart either. What is a person suppose to do? Just purchase an entire new faucet and replace it at the tune of $150 to $300 for a new faucet, plus the pain and anguish of re-installing a new one too?

Is it the intended purpose of the manufacturer of these dang things that we (the consumer) is suppose to purchase a whole new end?

I've taken them off, soaked them in all kinds of lime and calcium build up destroying chemicals. But that does not remove any blockage that may have made it's way to that final screen.

If there was a way to tie the dang hose up so it wouldn't slip back into the gooseneck, I'd remove all those ends on all my faucets and just have nothing on them!

So, if anyone DOES know how they come apart, PLEASE, PLEASE share how you do it!

If attempting the remove the aerator screen at the very end of the faucets, I'm thinking a tool like this might work. There are other styles available.

I went out to the RV to look at my faucet to see if I could figure out how to take it apart. I don't know if mine is the same but it looks to be the same. I noticed an tiny allan nut - so I backed it out (pic below - it is very long!) and then I pushed the cartridge out of the chrome sleeve (pic below)...but I could not get the cartridge guts out to reveal the aerator screen. I am stumped...but I still have decent water flow. Am I late to the party or did you guys already get this far before progress stopped?

If we were full time in the RV with the water we have here - I could grow a calcite stalactite in a year! We have extremely hard water and I have to keep the our sink fixtures cleaned out.

Wow! I had never heard of aerator key!!!

I wasn't sure if that was an Allen nut or something you need to push a skinny thing into to release. I'll try and find an appropriate Allen key. I did notice that when I take the sprayer off, the water coming out when only the cold is running is at a substantially lower pressure than when the hot is running. This tells me maybe there is an obstruction in the cold line, but I'm not really sure if that's it, or how to track it down.

Hey Andy, Having narrowed it down to the cold did you try the backflush method Reset19 suggested? Might just get lucky.

I just gave up and replaced the clunk Keystone supplied kitchen faucet after a year or so as it also drooled water with no replacement cartridges available. Found an American Standard that was being phased out at Lowe's for 50% off. Never looked back though did need one of the keys shown above when the aerator clogged (about once a year). My only 'pain' installing that non RV faucet was the water line adapters, also found at Lowe's.

Mine was easy just took the hose off & removed the restriction.

What does the restriction look like? I've not taken anything further apart since I'd have to go shut off the water to do the backflush (which I still don't quite understand), or remove the restriction.

I had the same problem. Kitchen faucet was a cheap item with no access to screen. We chose to replace it with a good brand, and accessible screen. No problems since.
