Question Unknown Release - Montana 3400RL

Hey all, first time contributor, new member here.

I recently purchased a used 2011 Montana 3400RL (which I am loving). knowing it has maintenance and updates that need to be done, I am very pleased with it thus far.

While repairing the hydraulic jacks (leaky o-rings), I noticed this release. It doesn't feel like it's attached to anything, and I couldn't find anything useful about it in the manual, does anyone on here recognize what this is used for? Picture attached.

I appreciate this group! Thanks for your willingness to share!

Matt,

First, welcome to the forum!

That should be the handle to dump the gray tank for your sink.

I agree. If you say it doesn't seem to do anything, it may have come unscrewed from the rod connecting to the tank. I have had that happen several times - and lost the handle one time as it wasn't attached to anything.
To re-install, cut a small hole in the coroplast to see what you are doing to re-screw the handle back in. Make sure the 'fold' part of the cut (square flap) is facing forward so the wind won't catch it driving down the road after taping it back.

Mine pulled very easily and could have been mistaken as not connected.

Now that you have tried pulling it, be careful when you take the cap off your sewer outlet. If the drain is working, and if there was any water in the galley tank, that water will now be sitting behind the sewer outlet cap and be a big surprise when you remove it. If there is no water behind that cap, then pull that handle and run some water down the kitchen sink to see if any comes out the sewer pipe. If so, then push the handle back in to see that it stops. You want to know that before you head out on a trip.

Welcome to the MOC. Connect your dump hose and pull the handle.
