Travel to Canada

Linda & I are planning to travel to Canada this summer to the Qubec and Bay of Fundy area. Does anyone have suggestions for campgrounds and sites that are must see?

I don't personally know much about Quebec campgrounds, but you might try a Private Message to "Ormee and Ginette". They live in "La Belle Province" and are planning on travelling in that direction this summer.

Hope you enjoy your trip, we have never been east (yet), but we are told it is beautiful country. Try to take in New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia, especially the Cabot Trail (but without your trailer).

Here are some info for New Brunswick where you will find the Bay of Fundy.
To see:
Irving Eco-Centre, La Dune de Bouctouche (www.ifdn.com/Dune/index.html
Shediac is the Lobster Capital of the world (www.shediac.org)
St. Andrews is a lovely town (www.town.standrews.nb.ca)
Hopewell Rocks has the world's highest tides. Make sure to find out the time of low/high tides. At low tide you can walk on the ocean's floor.

Two nice campgrounds with huge lots:
Kouchibouguac National Park (www.parcscanada.gc.ca/Kouchibouguac)
Sugarloaf Provincial Park near Campbellton (www.TourismNewBrunswick.ca)

Hope this will be useful. The Maritimes are a beautiful place to visit.
Happy travel.

For Quebec City we have used Camping Transit - opposite bank of the river to the city but very convenient ferry service or bridges across to the city.

Montreal - closest to City is Camping Allouette.

Both are linked from my RV Diary 2004 on our website http://www.blakeconsulting.ca/Director/index.html

If planning on stopping at Miramichi - do not believe the website for "Enclosure Campground" the place is VERY rundown and is not recommended by us for any purpose - a dump! Needs big bucks spent on it to bring it anywhere close to par.

Welcome to you in province of Quebec. I can give you the name of a site where you can find all you need near from us. The only problem is that this site is in french. It's my web site : http://pagesperso.laposte.net/mimisimbad/
You will find the places we have visited in 2003 and 2004. For each place, you have the web page of the camping, info like the price and comments.
Have a good trip and if you want give us some news by email. Our english is not very good but we try to do our best.

For Dcowie
The above suggestions for the Quebec city area are good... If you are in Montreal try to stay at Parc Mont Laval which is just off highway 13 north at the St. Martin exit... There is local bus service to downtown Montreal so you can leave your truck at the campground because parking in Montreal is at a premium and parking lots charge double for trucks... Further up river towards the new Brunswick border another campground is in St Jean Port Jolie, it is Demi Lieu campground... While in Fredricton N.B stay at the Harrt Island Campground right on the St. Johns river... Also visit the quaint little town of St Andrews and stay at the Kiwanii Club's campground, it is right on the Bay of Fundy... Hope this helps a bit...
