I blow ours out first,though you do not have to do that, It takes a little over a gallon to refill the lines and a little more to get pink at all the faucets. remember the outside shower or washing machine hook up's. Then I put about 8-10 ounces in each trap.Also if you can blow out the black tank flush hookup
