toilet paper

I have a hard time finding RV toilet paper. My neighbor tells me he has used Angel Softy for years with no problem. Anybody else use Angel Soft? I"m really leary of using anything but RV rated paper. Any suggestions?

Angel Soft was recommended, but within the last several years they have changed and may not be the best any longer. We use Scott single ply and dump once a week while on our winter site for six months and generally not much left when it goes down the sewer hose.
We've done the shake test and found numerous septic safe brands that desolve better and faster than the expensive RV brands.
Just remember "It's just money down the Sh_tter"!

Wife has gone to cards, but Scott single ply sounds right. Put a sheet or 2 in a tea class. 2-3 inches of water, shake with your hand on top. It should turn to pulp. If it is still a sheet, get a different brand.

I'll edit when she gets home......

Edit: Scott Extra Soft single ply

I agree with the shake test. We use Angel Soft in the Monte with no problem. But DW prefers Cottonelle Ultra at home. Tried the shake test on it and it disintegrated rapidly. May start using it in the Monte to keep her happy.

Charmin is one not recommended.

Have done the shake test on nearly all TPs and Angel Soft has come out the best, with a second place going to the TP that Aldi's sells. The package looks real close to the Angel Soft packaging. Just remember to use a lot of water when flushing and you shouldn't have any problems. I do use Happy Camper in all my tanks to keep them clean and break down any possible solids.

If you belong to Costco, then the Kirkland brand is fine. I too did the shake test. Put some of the Kirkland in a jar, and hardly had time to shake it before it was disintegrated and the water was just a milky white color. Been using it at the stick house for years, which is on a septic system. No problems there, either.

Sam's Club Member's Mark for us. DW endorses it and it disintegrates easily.

That is what we use at S&B, will have to try a shake test and if it as you say, it will be going into the rig! Never even thought about it before, so, thanks for the heads up!

We have always used Scott's RV and get it at Walmart. Someone told me last year that you could order it bulk on-line but when I compared that price to Walmart it was exactly the same. Maybe DQDicks price is cheaper because I can't recall my comparison prices from last year.

There must be a ton of RVers using Scott's RV B-wipe in SW Florida because the Walmart's I check are oftentimes out of it around here.

I have used Scott's single ply for years, but if Member's Mark works as well, we will be changing. Two-ply that is as good as Charmin would be a luxury addition!!

IMO using single ply we just use twice as much. We use two ply, lots s of water and have not had a problem over many years.

Used it for years, however the new stuff does not pass the "sit in water over night" test. It was still a lump in the AM, did not disolve at all...we no longer use it.
