This makes 45

We will be out of touch for awhile. I am taking my princess to a German castle in Bavaria. We will be residing there for about two weeks. We will be staying at Sommersdorf not too far from Munich. I tell folks that we are returning to our roots, not German roots (although Dianna was a Crain, as German as you can get), but our regal roots.

We will use the castle for a hub and branch out from there to do some hiking and other non-directed touristy stuff. This is being done in view of our 45th wedding anniversary.

We enjoyed 18 days in the British Isles for our 40th. I bought a new simple, digital camcorder for the trip. If this one is simple, it would take a college degree to operate one that wasn't. Maybe I'll learn how to post a picture or two when we return.

That should be a great trip. My wife and I made it to Garmish but the Castle was closed for tours. It was 1 Nov. Had a lot of fun with the Christmas village there also. Enjoy the food, beer and wine. You can not go wrong.

What a wonderful way to celebrate such an important event! How nice that you actually like each other enough to want to spend the time together ...

Have a great time ... looking forward to tales of your adventures in Germany!

Stiles, no wonder you've been married 45 years. An anniversary celebration in a castle in Bavaria? Most guys have never had a thought like that cross their mind. Sorry, guys.

Stiles,

Congratulations on 45 years of marriage. Debbie and I will celebrate 30 years this Wednesday. Wish I could say we were going to be in a castle, but alas, Debbie is working and won't be free until schools out. Enjoy yourselves and have a wonderful trip. We'll look forward to your debut as a producer/director/cameraman.

Wait, wait, A man's home is his castle! Let's see - flowers, a nice bling-bling, a romantic candle lit dinner. Maybe I can just pull this off...Naw, it still won't be Bavaria. Hmm, I wonder...

Stiles,
Congrats on the 45 years. Your trip sounds dreamy. Lamar and Debbie congrats to you also. I bet Debbie will be happy with flowers and a nice candlelight dinner she doesn't have to cook or do dishes.
