Crescent City CA

We spent 3 beautiful days in the Redwood country of northern California and all in sunshine. If you have ever been to that area in the summer, it is normally overcast most of the day. That was a plus. We stayed in a Good Sam Park, Ramblin' Rose RV north of Crescent City. They gave us a great site (#10) which backed up right under the trees with no one behind us and lots of room. The park as a whole is not appealing except for a few nice wooded sites. There is a large workout center located in the park if that is your thing. Compared to the asphalt parking lots they call campgrounds in some parts of the country and right on highway 101, it is a good choice if you like private parks. My preference would still be Harris Beach State park about 1/2 hour north in Brookings, Oregon. They were booked or we would have gone there. It has full hookups but the best section is the A section backed up to overlook the ocean below. The A section also comes with cable TV. C1 is our favorite - 53 ft long and a good view of the ocean and is one of 2-3 sites in that section with cable. If and when we get to travel we will spend lots of time in private parks, but for now we will continue to stay in state, county, and national parks in Oregon.
