How much torque for lug nuts

I'm getting ready to take my new 2955 on its maiden voyage.

I can't seem to find what the proper torque setting (lbs) is for the lugs nuts on the alum. wheels.

Great forum, I've learned a lot of info from here in the last 6 mo.

I just completed my first trip on my 06 2955RL. I have the aluminum wheels and they might be more prone to becoming loose than the steel wheels but in either case it is important to cheque your wheel nut's torque. I had removed all four of my wheels to bring them down to a tire shop for balancing and I put them on and torqued them up to 120 ft lb and when first put on, they do need checking often. I followed Montana's instuctions and after 15 miles I stopped and checked them. I got over a flat of movement on most of the nuts. Two more stops and each time I got a little turn on the nuts to make my Torque wrench click. Then they were set and they stayed tight for the last 3000 miles of my 3500 mile trip. I still checked them at the start of every driving day. It takes a couple of minutes and it is worth the piece of mind it gives me.

Good luck on your trip and I hope you have a great time with no problems.

After you get them tight, put a drop of red nail polish between each bolt and each wheel...then it's easy to see if any have backed off.

89Dually -

You should have gotten a DVD with your coach specifically on torque. If you contact Keystone, they will send you one. At last year's rally, the service personnel brought spare copies along for everyone. I know many of us went out and bought torque wrenches.

Should also be a label (mine is on the front left side of the coach) that specifies torque lbs.
