Off to Rabun Lake for Memorial Day

I'm off to Rabun Lake for Memorial Day. Don't do reservations - first come first served, so I'm going early. Debbie and kids will join me on Friday. I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday.

Don't forget to remember our veterans past and present for the sacrifice they have made and a prayer of thanksgiving for living in this wonderful country.

The same to all of my new found friends at MOC forum.

Have a fun, wonderful and most importantly of all safe Memorial Day. Kick back relax, watch the race and remember our vets. We owe them so much. To bad they can't be doing what we will have the joy of doing this weekend as we get to enjoy what they gave us the freedom to do.

I am a 12 year ex US Air Force Military Photographer myself. Many of them and their families give up a great deal to serve and the families are also just as much a veteran as the vet.

Have a great Memorial Day.

Wordsmith,
We stayed at the USDA Forest Service Rabun Beach campground. We have camped there for more than 30 years. There are 75 or so campsites about half of which have water and electric. If you decide to visit with your fith wheel do not approach from US Hwy 441. The lake is on Old Route 441. I pulled a 24' TT through there one time and folks had to back up to let me through, the curves were so tight and the road so narrow. It's better to take Ga. route 75 to 17 to 255 to 197 to Burton Dam Rd. The road still winds a bit but you can keep the coach between the lines.
