Montana-The Top of our Wish List

We are researching several makes for full-timing half the year. Is that half-timing?? Anyways as soon as Ron retires from firefighting 4-7 years we will hit the road. We currently are leaning towards the Montana 3750RK. There aren't many makes with this huge rear kitchen. If any owners out there have this model we would appreciate hearing your comments and if you live in it 24X7. We figure the more research we do the better off we will be when ready to purchase. We live in southeast Michigan and have summer home in the Sanford Lake area. Also have kids and grandkids in Florida & Tenn with parents in AZ hence our desire to hit the road during Mich winter months and visit our family and hit some cruise ports for crusing. Should be a blast and we can't wait! Thanks, Debbie & Ron

Deb and Ron, Welcome to the MOC forum. The Montana brand is a terrific 5th wheel in our opinion but that may be a little biased. Good luck in your research and hope to see more posts coming from you.

Hey Debbie & Ron Welcome to the MOC.

The 3750RK, is that a typo as Montana doesn't list a 3"7"50. They do have a 3650RK and yes it does have a huge kitchen with the 2 slides. I believe you are making the right decision by buying a Montana but like DHenry I may also be a little biased.......NOT!

Hi Debbie and Ron
Welcome. You are on the right track. We did a lot of looking and comparing before we bought our 3400. We know we made the right decision. Hope all your plans work out and you have great adventures.
Happy trails....................

This is the right place to be to learn about Montanas. Your choice of floorplan depends on your lifestyle and plans for travel. Our 3255RL suits us to a "T", but if we weere fulltiming we might want something with a bigger kitchen and more storage. Have fun looking and enjoy your search.

Hi and welcome. We are biased of course, but we are on our second Montana.

One thing I like to tell new RVers is to look at the unit with the slides in, and consider whether they will need to use the trailer that way when on the road, e.g. overnight stops at Flying J or Wall-mart or even just lunch at a Rest stop. Some models work better than others in that respect.

Good luck in you searching, that is half the fun.

Hi Debbie and Ron and Welcome. I would also agree with the others about Montana Fifth Wheels. We have a model 3670 RL and have lots of room. My wife has always wanted a very open living area. Some of the others might like a larger kitchen area. It does depend on what you are looking for. You can certainly pay more, but i think that the Montana gives you a good bang for the buck.....Les

Welcome aboard! We bought first a 2880RL back in 2001 and this 3295RK with a big kitchen in 2002. The 3650RK was not available at that time. It's a beautiful model. We like that floorplan. Whichever model you get, Montana is a good way to go. Being number one seller in North America for either 4 or 5 years (not sure about this year yet) says a lot about what people think of their Montanas. They're not without wrinkles, none of them are. But it's a terrific brand with a great company standing behind it. Good luck.

We looked at these when they first came out, but at that time they had no accommodations for a washer/dryer. I see they have a spot in the bedroom now for the w/d. I like the arrangement with the kitchen/dining separate from the living area.

Hi Debbie and Ron- Looks like I am a month LATE on this post.... Sorry - Welcome to our great Forum. Christa and I purchased a 3650RK last September. I kinda Had my heart set on a 3400RL, Actually we were looking at it for one last time at the dealer before we signed the papers... On the way back to the office, the saleman said you folk's should also look at this one (3650RK)in regards to the furniture and interior colors.....When Christa walked through the door and her eye's lite up THAT WAS IT!!!!.. Even I haven't regreted this purchase... Much more counter, space and really a seperate room for the ladies to visit it. It works great for us, we have made three trips in the Montana now and we are planning on heading for the Rio Grande Valley in Feb if all goes well.
May you both have a safe and happy Holiday
See You Down the Road John H
