Window Install in 3400 Kitchen Slide

We have an `09 3400RL and I was wondering if it would be possible to have a window installed in the kitchen slide like the `07/`08 model? It seems to be darker in the kitchen than previous model years I have looked at.

If you are willing to part with the cash, ANYTHING can be done to your RV.

Hi Jack (seems friendlier to me than Ratfink11... ),

I read your post and did a search with no success of a post that included a link to some members who had installed a new window in an RV.

I expect it can be done, just be careful of what's in the wall and depending on the location to determine if you might need "framing".

I'm hoping this rings a bell with another member. The post I am referring to contained a description of what they did and a link to a slide show included cutting the hole in the rig and the mounting, sealing and insulating associated with it.

Art,

You may be thinking of Ozz's window install in the water closet.

Check the manufacturer of the windows on your Montana. On my 2006, the manufacturer is Kinro. Their plant is located in Bristol, Indiana, which is about 6 to 8 miles north of Goshen. Provide the size of window you want and they can provide a window. Verify where the sidewall frame. You can then mark a template on the wall and cut the opening. Then install the window, the inside frame screws into the outside frame. The wall is like the meat in a bread sandwich.

I don't see any reason why you could not. Just check the out side wall of the slide when you have a heavy dew and if you don't see any support braces in the wall then you won't have a problem in putting one in.
