Splendide Ariston Review
Finally got the chance to use our Ariston stackables during our maiden voyage last weekend -
The wash machine is far more high tech than I realized! Maybe all front loaders are like this, but the wash machine does not run on any traditional cycle like I'm used to with top loaders. It washes the clothes by turning one way, then the other, faster, slower, little bit of water at first, then more water....and the spin cycle is a series of fast, slow, forward, reverse.... all designed to eliminate wrinkles, etc. I was very impressed! It uses very little water, and the 1200 rpm spin cycle leaves the clothes far dryer than our home wash machine. In fact, they are almost ready to hang up without drying. With the rear jacks and front pin jack on the Monty, I did get some vibration, especially at the lower speeds. However, nothing so bad that you would need to leave, or that would vibrate stuff off the counter. Just a mild vibration. Super quiet as well. No problem watching TV or talking while it ran.
The dryer is huge. The drum will handle two or more loads from the wash machine. The dryer actually makes more noise than the wash machine, and the heat is very limited with the 110VAC. It does take a couple of hours to completely dry a robe or a set of towels and washcloths. If you can imagine a hair dryer blowing into a 55 gallon drum, that is the best it gets. The advantage is everything is wrinkle free.
Overall they are fun and useful toys, perfect for a part time RVer. They may not be heavy duty enough for the serious full timer without some getting used to or a lot of time on your hands. The advantage to the stackables is using both at units at once. If that's not important, the combo units would be just as efficient after seeing how these work.
Just my own perception for those thinking of installing them.
