Rugs and Runners....

the DW and I are working on outfitting our new rig with some rugs. 2 drivers for this... help protect the flooring from high traffic area wear and to help our doggo and kitties with traction as they pad around the palace.

We have a few that we've grabbed at wal-mart and such, but the "standard" sizes are not always what we need or are looking for. Has anyone explored custom sized mats or rugs for their trailer?

In the past, we have used all sorts of floor covering. You do have to look beyond Wall Mart or Home Depot though. And sometimes, you still have to make modification yourself to the cookie-cutter size rug or runner.

My wife is a rug Junkie, if it was up to me I'd give/throw them all out.

We got our last set of runners at Costco. I shortened the stock runner between the stairs and bdrm by cutting and spliced it back together with hotmelt adhesive and Gorilla tape. New blade and a straightedge helps to cut the rubber backing. Took out a section to retain the edging. The runner design had a random patten so the splice blends pretty well. Don’t have a picture but can add one later.

Home Depot has limited choices of runner by the foot and iron-on edging. It didn’t have a rubber back which meant buying and attaching anti-slip pads.

We purchased a large one and had a local carpet guy cut it up to sizes we needed and then seamed the edges. It was not expensive. If you need his name let me know. We purchase the carpet from ruggables.

Try Mayfair. We got rugs and runners for our doublewide mobile home made to the sizes you give them. To the inch at least.

If you have a Olley's nearby they usually have quite a few rugs and remnants to look through

Rugs and remnants in the RV….?
Do you work out or jog in place in the RV?
You might be a carpet runner. Ba-dum-dum.

A small rug is always on the passenger seat.I occasionally rub it, and it keeps me company while I drive.Everyone calls it my car pet.

I wondered what it would be like to lie naked on a bear rug. Cracker Barrel was not thrilled.

What was the question?

We got 3 matching area rugs from Walmart. One in kitchen, living room and bedroom. The wife also found a runner for the kitchen between the stove and island. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I like the "buy big and cut down" suggestions. The DW would like them to be more or less consistent design/pattern-wise......

Pictures of the shortened runner. It was a 7 footer from Costco cut down to 53 inches to fit the hallway. The random pattern made it easier to hide the splice. The splice is lightly bonded with hot melt to generally keep the fibers in place and then Gorilla tape for strength. We turned the spliced-end towards the bedroom figuring it's walked on less there.
