Travelling in cold weather w/ice maker

We will be travelling in cold weather and would like to put water in the tank and run water pump and use the tank heaters. Is there a way to shut off the water line to the ice maker under the slide? It seems this was a poor place to put this line - right out in the open. Thanks for any suggestions on how to handle this.

If yours is like ours, there is a valve under the sink to shut off water to that line. A second valve is under and behind the cabinet next to the fridge. Not sure what model you have, but most all of the ones I have heard about have 2 valves for just this reason.

We have the same configuration, I would suggest after closing the valves to then disconnect the fitting under the slide to drain the water from that line to prevent freezing.

Yep! I had my Montana for 3 years and didn't realize there was another turn off valve under the kitchen sink that ran to the ice maker. And it was only a couple months ago I realized there was a drain on that line under the trailer.

I added a drain in the line myself, at the slide a couple years go so I could drain the water from the refrigerator to under the slide. I didn't even see the other low point directly under the kitchen sink valve (3 years and never saw it, right in front of my face). (Duh). Then also learned about the cut off valve under sink. Again, I looked directly at it every time I opened the cabinet door under the sink, and just never saw it (another Duh!).

My added drain in the line between slide out and refrigerator. It was simple to do, and can be removed easily. 1/2 inch PVC pipe worked just fine for a drain.

Cut off line, right beside the refrigerator. Yours may be different based on your floor plan.

Here's the on-off valve under the kitchen sink:

And here's the (Oh Duh) drain valve under the trailer, under the kitchen sink, that drains the ice maker water line. So, now I have 2 drains on that line.

I had looked in both of those area also and did not see the valves. It can be hard getting down that low. Ha! You saved me 3yrs of trying to figure it out. Especially the drain under the trailer. Thanks for advice and photos.

I added a drain valve at the side so I don't need to crawl under to drain that low point.
