After a very difficult week between problems with my mother and all of us being sick, we are REALLY ready for our Reno trip and very much looking forward to it. See you soon!

Nancy... I just got back from Oregon about 4 hours ago and am already getting everything together for the trip to Reno on Labor Day Weekend for the Best-in-the-West-BBQ Cook-off.

Doug lost 34 pounds in anticipation of sampling ribs from all 26 contestants! I hope Roy, Paul & Kevin are ready for the challenge.

"Party Crashers" (Denise & Kevin) checked on all of our (theirs, yours, ours and Kathi's) reservations and we'll see you there on Friday the 2nd!

Kathi & Paul..... can't wait to meet you in Reno!

I am looking forward to it and ashamed to admit on this site that you were within 8 miles of my home and we were not able to get together because of our camping plans with the grandchildren, a 24-hour bug that hit every one of us in consecutive days, and our normal work schedules. Some hospitality!!

Doug will shame us all into not eating - wow, some accomplishment! Our diet starts AFTER we have the ribs and lobster.

.....*LOL...... don't worry about it Nancy. I didn't stop and phone Don (Searchers) to see if he and/or Claudia were available to meet for a Coke at the Mt. Shasta Burger King today either (forgive me Don!). I've put over 2000 miles on our car in the last few weeks traveling up and down the West Coast and am really tired of traveling..... until the next road trip, that is!...*LOL

I go back to work full-time 9/12 and am trying to get all the trips in that I can.

Margee,

You missed a chance at a free Coke! You were only about a mile from us! Wish we could join y'all for the ribs in Reno, but we're otta here about 6AM tomorrow for Rapid City. Even though we're running solo we'll be winking at Montanas along the way.

We put our Monty in the shop for service on Tuesday. They told us that they would have it ready by this Saturday. WE ARE READY TO ROLL..... RIBS, RIBS, RIBS, here we come. Can't wait to put some faces with names.....Then from there Paul suggested that we head right back up to Montana to be with our daughter and son again. We were just there at the end of June and beginning of July. We are going to look for a house. He didn't want to move up there because he said we couldn't stand the cold. But once he saw the area, it was love at first sight. He told me that we didn't have to go out in the cold if we didn't want to. Boy he really changed his tune. So we will see what happens.

We look forward to meeting you, as well. If you go back to the photos of the Western rally in Mt. Shasta last May you will find photos of all 3 couples you will be meeting.

Wow, California to Montana will be quite a change! Living near your children will be worth it, I am sure. We live next door to our daughter and 4 grandchildren.

See you soon!

Have a great trip Don and Claudia. Hope you get that Montana out one more time before winter. September and sometimes October can be great camping months around here.

Don, Nancy.... we'll have to have another get-together of MOC folks before next Labor Day. Since most of us on the West Coast still work and need a Holiday or extra day to pull the Montys anywhere... how about we have a MOC Western Regional Rally at a hotel one weekend, without our Montanas?.....*LOL

Nancy, glad to hear your family is feeling better... I didn't want the flu so I stayed away. Bad news is that it gave me more time to shop at Harry & Davids! My hotel window overlooked the store so when I wasn't at the hospital visiting my new nephew, you know where I was!

Don, now I feel bad that I didn't call you. That free Coca-cola sure sounds good....if I had only known you were buying..... Have a safe trip.

And Kathi.... I sure hope that Montana is ready to roll in time for the Reno Rib Cook-off! We are going to have a great time.

Kathi..... do you have an idea of when you'll be pulling into Gold Ranch? We are hoping to be there by noon on Friday. Check-in isn't until 2pm so if our site isn't available, we'll probably pull next door into the casino parking lot and go hang out with the slot machines...*grin.

We'll put a note on our driver's side dash letting you know exactly where we are. So if you see a Montana parked at the casino, look at the dash and we'll do the same.

If I have the time, I'm going to get some 8" or 10" lettering and affix our MOC number (MOC-49) on the front right top of our Montana before we leave for Reno.

Roy & Nancy are thinking they'll arrive around 4pm and PartyCrashers are arriving about then also.

WE'RE HERE!!!!!
Arrived 1:30 on Thursday. Had to scope the joint out you know.. Will be looking forward to seeing you all. If you haven't been here before, don't do what we did! We make a right getting off the I-80 and got stuck in all this road work on a 2 lane road. Yuck. But we took it all in stride and turned around and then went back through the road work. But we made it......LOL Kathi

oooohhhh.... you brat!!!! ... you are already there?! *LOL ..... we just might try and get there earlier than noon. Check out site #62 and let me know if someone is occupying it. I'm hoping it stays empty so we can park and unhook as soon as we arrive. I am sooooo looking forwards to relaxing this weekend. I'm gonna try and not even cook.... we'll see how that goes. I seem to get restless if I am not cooking or baking something for folks. I might have to do a breakfast at least once. I love to cook breakfast outdoors on the grill.

Kathi..... can you give us more directions about getting off I-80 due to the road work?

Wouldn't we get off I-80 and then make a left and drive some to go over or under the interstate to cross over to the other side?

I-80 then Exit 2. You'd be heading west. When you make your exit you DO NOT GO TO THE RIGHT....Continue off the ramp and to the left. You will see the signs. Right after the gas station on your right hand side is the entrance to the park...Huge American Flag outside the Casino....

Oh boy..... we are coming up as soon as we can get outta here in the morning! I'll call the park and see if we can come in early. If not, we'll just park next door until check-in. We want to get up the mountains before the warmer weather.

Thanks Kathi!!
