Dave,
Theres a Walgreen or CVS on everyother corner here on the East coast. At least it seems like it.

Thanks, JP! I not going to stress out over this. I will call my BX/BS rep and let them tell me what to do when I need a Rx. I'll use Walgreens when I need one.

Dave,

I have my Doc call my Class II Rx's into Longs Drug (he actually faxes them). Then, I went to Longs, gave the Pharmacy tech my credit card and asked her to Express mail them when I call her. No problem, so far. BTW, shipping is only 3 bucks.

We have used Walgreen's just about everywhere we've traveled. They are pretty good. You just need to keep them reminded about how to bill. My problem is I need some class A or 1 or however they designate them...... pain killers. In California I have to actually take a multi-layered prescription into the pharmacy.

When on the road this can be a problem. Thankfully I've only had a problem one time. One time we could not find a Walgreen's store so we simply found a Wal-Mart. Worked just fine.

In Quartzsite we use the Safeway over in Parker. Again no problem.

This is a worrisome item but we probably worry more than we should. Our health care problems have been easily solved while we've been on the road.

Good luck to all.

We just returned to TN after a summer in New England. We had no problem switching pharmacies from Walgreens to the local grocery chains (Shaws and Hannafords). We finally switched to Walmart which was most convenient. Walmart can apparently transfer the prescription via computer from store to store, while changing states anywhere else required the new pharmacy to phone the old one adding delays. Both ways were fine, but Walmart was most convenient for us overall.

Happy travels

We use Wal-Mart exclusively since we do most of our general shopping at the super stores. However, Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, Longs, four pharmacies I checked with, all say a person can get any prescription refilled at any pharmacy regardless of where it is originally filled. They just go on line and transfer or the pharmacist makes a phone call to the phone number of the last pharmacy where the prescription was filled. We don't get alarmed if we can't find a Wal-Mart (getting harder and harder not to find) because there is usually some kind of pharmacy available.
