Storing That Mess of RG-6 Cable

What method do you guys use to wind up your RG-6 cable which can be as much as 100' long. I'm going to have to use 50' or so of the dual messenger RG-6 and it can get rather unruly. I found one of these at HD - cheap $10 but was looking for a metal version.

I job roll it up in about a 18 inch circle and put a couple ties on it.

That takes up more room than the coil of 50’ of rg-6 for me.

what about this as an alternative?

Bayco HT-130 150ft Extention Cord Reel

I use one like this for my rope lights.

Same here. Just about any electrical cables.

I use the same holder as Arkware and Daryles for my coax cable. It's lasted better than 10 years so far. It also allows to play out the cable without loops and kinks should you just wind it up around your arm.

I played with one of those at HD but everyone I picked up had a stiff spot every turn which I thought might make it hard to hang onto once it gets heavy with cable. The one I got can be set firmly on the ground while rolling in the cable. They are all made overseas so only time will tell how long it holds up. I had just wondered if anyone had ever run across something similar in a metal version. I've always had a strong aversion to cheap Chinese tools.

jimandlauri ... the plastic ones that are simply hand held work fine even if they don't turn evenly. Once I get several turns of coax on my hand held ... it actually spools better. Each of us have different views of things, but I really like what I have as one with feet just takes up more room or won't allow stuff to easily stack on top of it. My plastic spool has lasted a long long time. I even use one of the orange spools for the newer style fresh water hoses that are really flexible and have the fabric cover. Works just as good as coiling it up in a clothes basket.

Does anyone use a spool or reel for holding the 50' fifty amp shore power cord ? I inherited some 30 amp cords and one 50 amp, and the tote is getting pretty full !
Any ideas or experiences with storing electrical cords in the 30 and 50 amp range will be appreciated.

I got from AMZN - MOR/RYDE REEL56009H Economy Easy Reel Spooler $80. It holds my 35 footer that came with the 5r. I just lay the extra 25' extension inside the back drivers side compartment next to it.

Dang it! There y’all go again. I never considered anything but simply coiling it up and using Velcro straps. Now I gotta consider spools.

Not totally off subject but a way to make your RG-6 cable connections easier. I have big fingers and it is a hassle to connect coax to the RV and the site connector. I found this site for RV Cable Grips and now I love to connect cable. I have no financial interest in this site. But, my frustration with cable ended because of this site.

I would be interested in your comments.

I know your pain. The recent cable and short jumpers I ordered came with grippy connectors so I will not have to struggle getting the stuff tied together. I'll be much happier.

I agree that most cable has really small and slippery fittings. Those grips look really nice but pricey. Get his grips then buy the 50' of cable at https://www.tv4rv.com/sunshop/index....t_detail&p=108

Use 1 for 50 amp cord and another for the water hose,

I'm with Lynnwood, I coil it up in and wrap it with a Velcro strap. I did see a very interesting storage setup on a fellow's 5er, homemade, with coils for all the cords mounted above the rear bumper. Seemed to work well for him. Sorry no pictures or specs.

I have a couple simply rolled and fastened with Vecro. They will usually re-roll in a 6-8 inch coil following their as-shipped form - then are stored somewhere near the TV.

I picked up two of these Cord Pro reels at the Heshey RV show a couple of years ago. They work great for the RG-6 cable.
