Spring hanger wallowed out, now what?
Good morning all!
My 2017 3710fl has been wearing the rear driver side tire in the inside only. Getting under the rig to inspect it I find the axle has a good upward arch as it should, so I dig deeper. Upon removing the wet bolts I find the oval slot is now wallowed out into a vertical slot. I am upset, and for due dillgence I check the passenger side (same rear axle) and its wallowed out vertically as well.
The springs themselves look in order, and the wet bolt bushings aren't worn out.
If I had to venture a guess, it almost looks as if the brass sleeve didnt make it all the way through to the other side of the hanger and allowing movement, creating my vertical slots.
So my question is: Now what? I've searched the forums to no avail. Is there a repair kit, something like a mending plate, or simply cut them off and have more welded on hoping that this doesn't happen again? Or....??
Thanks everyone, and if history proves itself correct, my photo will load upside down or sideways, so I apologize in advance if it does.

Can't help with good advice on the fix but I would recommend a wheel alignment when finished. This metel wear and tire wear sounds like two problems.

Two Montanans 06 3400 and now the 13 3402. The suspension systems on these Montana's are weak and troublesome. We replaced them on both units with the Mor Ryde IS system. We are long timers and do a lot of miles every year.

Get to an alignment shop.
This is more than just cut off and reweld hangers.
And yes the hangers will be replaced and with alignment you are good to go.

I suspect that what you have is the Lippert Correct Track system and those holes aren't worn that way, but are how the axles are adjusted for alignment. If you are talking about that little divot, that shouldn't have much effect on your alignment. If you are concerned about that, a welder could easily build up those divots and file them flat. You probably need the axles aligned, and that will, or should solve your tire wear.

Thanks everyone! rohrmann, I do have the correct track. Thank you all for the direction, it looks as if a trip to an alignment shop is in my future.
Any suggestions for a good shop in SE Michigan??

We always get an alignment with a new trailer, they are NOT in specs when they come from the factory. Best four hundred dollars we spend.

I thought something looked fishy about that pic. Looked too clean of a slot to be worn that way. The correct track system raises the trailer 2" by extending the brackets downward. IMHO this puts MUCH more stress on the hanger brackets.
I also agree that NO trailer comes from the factory aligned. Had mine done several years ago. It was WAY off.

Those holes are far to perfect to be worn like that. If they were worn that way they would not be straight and have huge burs on the ends. They were definitely made that way and
I suspect for alignment like the above posters suggest.

I had to search for a place that was not to far away. Even still I had to go 75 miles away. Your best bet is a place that works on large over the road trucks like dump trucks and tractor trailers.
The place I went to in PA mentioned they do ALOT of rv alignment's. It was a 3-4 hour process and cost around $375

Put 50,000 miles on my 05/3500 before I replaced factory sleeves with wet bolts. Plastic sleeves were still in one piece. I lubed all pivot points with motorkote before every trip.
