Cherry Hill in DC

Has anyone stayed at Cherry Hill in the DC area in the last 6 months? I have heard rave reviews, BUT both of my sons, who both are Federal law enforcement agents in the DC area, say that the College Hill area has become one of THE most dangerous parts of the DC area. I have stayed in the past at the DC KOA, and it was fine, but wondered about Cherry Hill, as we will be there in 2 weeks. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!!
