2015 Rocky Mountain Regional Rally
We are pleased to announce the first Rocky Mountain Regional Rally, September 8th to 13th at Winding River Resort in Grand Lake, Colorado. This is a Good Sam resort on the western side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Stay tuned for further details. So far, we have discussed a western barbecue, horseback riding, hiking and fellowship. We are hoping that we can catch some of our fellow MOC members on the way to the National Rally. Terrie and I agreed to be Wagon Masters after urging from our fellow Rocky Mountain chapter members. We look forward to seeing everyone this fall.

I think our schedule will be open to allow us to attend this rally. We're looking forward to helping make it happen.

We are super excited about this rally. We hope that many will join us as they head this way to Goshen in the fall. This is the Centennial celebration at Rocky Mountain National Park with lots of activities going on this fall. Thanks to Ron & Terrie getting us all together and being the Wagon Masters.

Colorado, as my adopted state, offers spectacular sights, awesome wildlife and unique mountain communities. For those who have not visited before, and those who want to re-acquaint themselves with the mountains - this will be a great rally. Rocky Mountain National Park is the gem of Northern Colorado. And, September is when the male elk "bugle" to attract mates. At this time of year, the aspens are turning and the days are warm and nights chilly. And did we mention - no Mosquitos. Fly fishing for trout, horseback rides into the park, hiking for all levels of fitness, bicycling and wildlife viewing. Not to mention, the fellowship of MOC members. And, if you are west of the Rockies, it's on your way to the National Rally.

Is highway 40 and 34 the best way to get to the Rally? Someone else said to not go thru the park towing.
Thanks.

i have been up the road several times thru the park and i myself, would not tow thru the park. can't say i have ever seen a big rig on that road. i would check with the rangers 1st to see if you can even tow thru it or what the limits are if any.
we will being using 70 west to the winter park exit and up and over the mountain via Berthoud pass.

There are no restrictions for towing in Rocky Mountain National Park. I know many Class A, trailers and 5th wheels that do it, but personally I would probably not. I agree with Dennis if you are coming from Denver/Colorado Springs that is the route we travel. Susie & I actually work at Winding River, so we can give directions from various routes that we've used if you would like to email us.

I agree with the above. We will be coming from northern Colorado. We will take the scenic Poudre Valley Highway 14 over Cameron Pass to highway 40 down to 34. If coming from the south, highway 70 to Winter Park is the best way. You are headed east on I80, drop down to Steamboat and follow Highway 40 over to Granby.

I looked at RV Park reviews and it said there were just 5 or 6 sites up front with sewer, or 30 at the back in the meadow; but the meadow didn't look appealing. Got more info on this?
Thanks.
