New from Texas
My husband and I are looking at the 2017 Montana 3610RL. We now own a 2014 Open Range Light 297 which is only 32 ft long. We are wanting to get a 5er that is longer and has slide out bed. We pull our Open Range with a 2016 crew cab F-250 diesel Platinum. Need opinions from you guys about the F250 pulling the 3610. Obviously this will be pretty long with truck and trailer. Are there problems getting into parks? Pulling down highway? Backing up? My husband was new at pulling a 5th wheel when we bought ours in 2013. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also we are not full timers......i teach and Jeff, my husband, is a plant operator. We live in southeast Texas.....HOT!!!!

Pulling that camper with your truck is childs play no problem. It might not meet weight requirements check tow limits on your truck. I pulled 14000 pound Fifth wheel with my F250 for a friend no problem. I wouldn't hesitate to pull it anywhere.

Welcome to the forum! Don't know the weight limits on a Ford, but with our Maxi Cab Dodge we are 57' long from front of truck to the back of the camper and, even though we full time, we've never had any problems with the length. Hope your new rig brings you many years of wonderful memories.

Welcome to the forum. I puled my 3582RL with a F250 but did move up to a F350. My rig can go to 16,700lbs and yours can go to about 16000.plus. So you may want to think about a F350 may be even a dully? In hindsight I should have done that  Ok that my 2 cents.

The F250 would pull it ok. BUT. You need to look at the payload rating for the truck. The 3610RL has a listed empty pin weight of 2,905 lbs. Load it for travel and you could a few hundred more. That is a lot of load sitting in the bed of an F250.

Welcome to the forum folks! We love our 3610 floor plan but we do pull with a 3500 dually. Your current truck will pull a 3610 but you will be overweight to some degree. Many people pull similar 5ers with 3/4 ton trucks and we will leave that decision up to you. Enjoy!!!

Enjoy your 3610, one of my favorite floorplans. We have the dyslexic version, 3160, because of length where we live. You may get some feedback on truck capability. Most people are moving toward the 1 ton (and some even larger). The 3610 is midway between the shortest and longest Montana's. Go through the numbers and then make an informed decision. Some have these numbers memorized. I do not. Welcome from sunny Colorado.

Is your 3160 large enough for you? After a lot of discussion my husband and I have decided we may go with the 3160RL. It has everthing we need and like.

Welcome to the MOC forum. You'll get lots of great advice and opinions here. Put me in the category of 1-ton rather than 3/4. We had an F-250 that we pulled the Monty with a few times and then traded for a 350. No problem with the engine but the suspension was clearly overloaded.

Yes, we absolutely love it. It is a very good floorplan for us. This is our third Montana. We have found the 3160 to have as much usable space as our 3400 or 365RLQ Big Sky, with a few caveats. I do not require an office. I have a wifi printer in the bedroom closet where the washer/dryer prep is located. If you need a desk, there are probably better options. When we land, we can be set up and watching television in less than 10 minutes. When we travel and want to eat lunch, I turn off the ODS slide and we put out the slide with the fridge. The slide doesn't go out as far as the steps, so no problem with interference. We boondock a lot, so the shorter length is good for us. I would advise thinking about how you live and then "simulate" that. Do you cook inside a lot? Are you TV watchers? We have a Travl'r satellite dish and a 2000 watt inverter installed. We use a remote extender to switch satellite channels on the outside tv. Thirteen years of at least 60 nights a year has helped us hone in on what is important to us. I can honestly say that there is not one thing we miss from our other "longer" units. Hope this helps.
