Finally “got around to it”

…cleaning the awning that is. Not one of my favorite cleaning chores on a camper, but I have to tip my hat to the person who mentioned OxiClean. It did a very nice job on the heavily mildewed spots—I honestly do not think the previous owners had ever cleaned it and I had been rather intimidated by them. Still, it looks next to new now.

I will say that cleaning the Montana’s awning was easier than the old Prowler, whose awning was a good five or so feet longer. Larger RV but smaller awning!

Glenn this was really great. Everyone needs "a roud TUIT" every once in a while.

J.D., would you explain your cleaning technique? Did you spray it on and then scrub a little with a long brush? Or just spray it on, roll it up, etc.?

Thanks.

Steve, I think it would be better if J.D. just came over and did an extended demonstration of his technique on our awnings.

Judy, you crack me up! Hope you won't be TOO insulted if I take a raincheck on that offer! Still, if you want to come by Statham, Georgia, I will be glad to supervise!

Steve, I just mixed the Oxiclean in a bucket, got a small pot brush for the underside--an extension brush for the top--and used some good, old-fashioned elbow grease. No rolling up or anything. I did have to use my step ladder on the underside at the very top to keep the detergent water from running down my arms or dropping into my eyes.

It WAS a chore!

Oh, and Glenn, thanks for the round TUIT!
