Sharp Micro Convection
The Sharp Micro-Convection oven in our 2004 2980RL just died. Power source is fine. Is there an interal fuse? We are on the road so we arn't anywhere long enough to take it in for service even if we could find a place. Any suggestions as we are reasonably handy with a screw driver or sledge hammer.

Got the Sharp Micro-Convection fixed. It was an in-line fuse that blew. Must have been a power spike at an Rv park we stayed at in Redding, CA. The tech said that you can get a surge protector for the micro. Anybody ever done that?

Jim, MOC has discussed surge protectors, but at the electric tie in post for the whole rig. Also autoformers are a tremendous safety feature. Might want to do a search on both. Think it would be very helpful in regards to the micro-conv problem. By the way, is that what they call a "half time" oven?

This ain't got nuthin' to do with you problem or your question. But trying to learn how to use a microwave/convection oven with the buttons written all in chinese is a hoot. We have absorbed that little task in efforts with a National brand unit. National is a cover brand for a cheaper Panasonic. We also found that it was impossible to get a users manual written in English. Oh, the joys of discovery. Electronics by experimentation.

I don't know if it is called a "half time" oven but it is a model R 820BK. And thank goodness the manual and instructions are in English. Pops popcorn Ok thats the main thing.

Dave, in reply to your question. I don't know what the other models have for microwave, but my microwave actually says half time oven. The unit is made by Apollo. It is also a convection oven and a microwave, so it may be the same type of unit being discussed. Have to tell you we don't use the oven much since we learned how to use the half time oven. Only problem we have discovered is that we can't use aluminum foil even when we use the half time oven. Learned that the hard way.

Mtman1313, what brand is it? I take it this is a 2005 3400? Is the door the only problem?
